What is Juneau Jazz & Classics festival?
Juneau Jazz & Classics is an annual festival of live, professional music in the beautiful Capital City of Juneau, Alaska. Entering its 20th year, Juneau Jazz & Classics has drawn artists representing the best in classical, blues and jazz genres for concerts, education programs, and free events. Juneau Jazz & Classics takes place throughout Juneau - in auditoriums, schools, hotels, the University of Alaska Southeast campus, on board boats and even in an office building atrium. Over 6,000 individuals from near and far join us for our 9-day music celebration each May, experiencing everything from string quartets to well-recognized headliners.

How does Juneau Jazz & Classics work?
Each event is ticketed separately. Tickets can be purchased online (link to ticket site) and at Hearthside Books. Some events are free. Check our lineup page for a list of events and their prices.

Will artist merchandise be available for sale at the festival?
Yes, with occasional exceptions. Most touring artists bring merchandise. Merchandise will be available for sale at the concessions tables at each event. Concessions tables open 90 minutes before each show's start time.

Where can I report or recover a lost item?
At the event, report lost items to any front of house volunteer. They will record the lost item and take your contact information. If the item is found, Juneau Jazz & Classics will contact you.

How can I perform at Juneau Jazz & Classics?
Juneau Jazz & Classics is a small festival with limited slots for performances. The organization does not have a formal application process. Artists are considered based not only on their ability to perform, but also for their credentials in working with youth and local musicians. Typically, the following year?s roster is in place by early December. If you are interested in being considered for Juneau Jazz & Classics, you may send a press kit to us at: Juneau Jazz & Classics, PO Box 22152, Juneau, AK 99802. Please note that we are unable to return press kits.

Is there seating at Juneau Jazz & Classics? Is it reserved, or general admission?
Events are held in a variety of settings and venues. All venues contain seats. At our events which involve dancing, such as our blues events, it is possible that we will forgo some seating for dance floor space, and will sell more tickets than there are chairs. So that all may enjoy our performances, we ask that dancers be considerate of those in seats.

Entrance to the venues and seating is general admission and is available on a first come, first served basis.

Certain contributors, including Angels, Benefactors and Sponsors have advanced seating privileges through our Presto Pass Program. For more information in regard to this benefit, please refer to our Support Us page.

Disabled Patron Services
Juneau Jazz & Classics works hard each year to make its annual musical celebration accessible to everyone. It is our goal to offer an enjoyable experience with the fewest barriers at every venue.

Parking
Please note that all Juneau Jazz & Classics venues have accessible parking. Accessible parking is first come first serve, so we suggest you arrive early. If you need additional information regarding parking please contact us at (907) 463-3378.

Wheel Chair Seating
Most Juneau Jazz & Classics venues have accessible seating areas. We welcome wheelchairs on board our cruises, but would appreciate advance notice to ensure we have people on hand to help and space is reserved. Certain venues are more up to date in regard to accessible standards than others. Chapel by the Lake does not have a ramp, rather they use a lift. Keep in mind that seating for all venues is first-come, first-served for all patrons. The best way to assure seating for a particular performance is to arrive early.

Large print programs and recorded program notes can be furnished on request.

If you have questions, please call us at (907) 463-3378 or email us at info@jazzandclassics.org.
